Black Sabbath – The End Blu-ray (Mercury Studios)

Eric Clapton – Slowhand At 70: Live At Royal Albert Hall DVD (Mercury Studios)

2015 was a year of landmark events for Eric Clapton. He turned 70 in March and then in May he performed his 200th concert at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall, fifty years after his first performance there with The Yardbirds. Clapton’s seven-night run at the venue was acclaimed by the critics and adored by the fans. The setlist blended vintage blues tracks and Eric Clapton classics from across his astonishing career. This is the first time this show is available on Blu-ray UHD 4K.

Ginger Root – Shinbangumi CD/LP/Cassette (Ghostly International)

Step inside the world of Ginger Root. Cameron Lew makes it easy to do so; every considered detail is his own manifestation, written, designed, and executed as an all-encompassing diorama of sound and sight. A multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and visual artist from Southern California, Lew has crafted his project steadily since 2017, inviting a fervent and growing legion of fans into storylines drawn across mediums: captivating albums with accompanying films and globe-spanning tours. The Ginger Root sound — handmade yet immaculately polished synth-pop, alt-disco, boogie, and soul — takes shape through Lew’s lens as an Asian-American growing up enamored by 1970s and ’80s music, specifically the creative and cultural dialogue between Japanese city pop and its Western counterparts from French pop to Philly soul to Ram-era McCartney. The Jesus Lizard – Rack CD/LP (Ipecac)

Formed in 1987 and known for their crazy live show, the Jesus Lizard is returning with their first new music since 1998. The Jesus Lizard is one of the leading noise rock bands of all time, influencing newer acts such as Idles and Fucked Up. The band has also had their time in the mainstream with a split release with Nirvana, and David Yow has recently done guest vocals on an Idles album and is an actor appearing in the remake of Toxic Avenger and other indie films such as Dinner In America and Rattlesnake. The Mystery Lights – Purgatory CD/LP+MP3 (Wick)

The Mystery Lights return with their most ambitious offering to date. With Wayne Gordon back in the producer’s chair, the group delivers an eclectic mix of real-deal psychedelia, punk, art rock, and even a splash of country via the Kinks(y) pop earworm “I’m Sorry I Forgot Your Name”. Nala Sinephro’s sophomore album, titled Endlessness, expands her scope from the inward journey of Space 1.8 into widescreen orchestral ambient jazz compositions. Consisting of 10 tracks, the music was composed, produced, mixed and recorded by Nala Sinephro and includes contributions from James Mollison (Ezra Collective), Morgan Simpson (black midi), Sheila Maurice-Grey (Kokoroko), Nubya Garcia, Lyle Barton, Natcyet Wakili (Sons of Kemet) and Dwayne Kilvington (Wonky Logic).

Micah Thomas – Mountains CD/LP (Artwork)

Mountains is an ambitious project from celebrated jazz pianist and composer Micah Thomas. His first large ensemble work offers an expansive and emotionally rich listening experience that explores the depths of musical storytelling. This exploratory project features Thomas alongside some of the most inventive luminaries in modern jazz, including trumpeter Adam O’Farrill, alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover, trombonist Caleb Smith, bassist Kanoa Mendenhall and drummer Kweku Sumbry.

After 30 years of playing music professionally, Willie Watson is releasing his debut album. A founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show, and a staple on the folk and americana circuit – Willie is no stranger to the stage and to audiences. But this is his first album of original music, aptly self-titled, and a bold and confident statement in both song mastery and sonics. This record is about beating the devil. Willie didn’t make any specific pact with him, but he had been tangled up with him his whole life. This album is about finding himself free of that devil and learning to love himself again. Oreglo – Not Real People 12” (Brownswood)

Translucent green colorway. Rising London band Oreglo release their debut EP Not Real People. Oreglo is made up of c-sé (keys), Linus Barry (guitar), Nico Rocco (drums) and Teigan Hastings (tuba), who all met growing up in London. Across the Not Real People EP, Oreglo showcase their innovative take on multiple genres: freewheeling through heavy rock riffs to drill-inspired percussion and breezy reggae, the quartet have cultivated a unique sound that acts as a melting pot of all the sounds they know and love from London.

Arvo Part – Tabula Rasa [Reissue/1984] LP (ECM)

In 1984, ECM brought a new sound into the musical world with the release of Arvo Part’s Tabula Rasa, the first album on the label’s New Series imprint. The record also marked the intersection of some of the most longstanding, significant musical collaborators in the label’s history: Arvo Part, Gidon Kremer and Keith Jarrett.

Diana Ross and The Supremes – Love Child [Reissue/1968] LP (Anagram/Elemental/Motown)

Love Child, the fifteenth studio album released by Diana Ross and The Supremes for the Motown label in 1968, was the group’s first studio LP not to include any songs written or produced by the Holland–Dozier–Holland production team, who had previously overseen most of the Supremes’ releases. Love Child shows a markedly different sound for The Supremes, eschewing the soul-pop sound for a more distinct, personal sound and lyrics.

The Scripts – Satellites LP (BMG)

The Script’s seventh studio album Satellites sees them reemerge with undeniable confidence. Lead single Both Ways is a fast-paced, dance-floor-filling pop-funk song and one of twelve distinctly unique tracks spanning pure pop, heartfelt folk-flavored ballads and everything in between, all co-written by frontman Danny O’Donoghue.

Starbuck – Moonlight Feels Right – The Collection 1975-2023 3xLP (Renaissance)

Starbuck was a rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1974 by keyboardist/vocalist/record producer Bruce Blackman and marimba player Bo Wagner. Both Blackman and Wagner, along with guitarist Johnny Walker, had previous success with Mississippi-based sunshine pop group Eternity’s Children, scoring a Billboard Hot 100 hit with “Mrs. Bluebird” in the summer of 1968. Starbuck’s debut single, “Moonlight Feels Right”, reached the No. 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts in 1976. [A color vinyl pressing is available.]

Teen Daze – Elegant Rhythms LP (Easy Listening)

Elegant Rhythms is the new LP from JUNO Award winning producer/DJ, Teen Daze. Written and recorded over the past four years, it is a vulnerable and personal look at the life of Jamison Isaak. After several years of exploring music made for a dancefloor, Elegant Rhythms is more indebted to the singer songwriters of the 70s, the sophistipop sounds of the ‘80s and the vaporwave sounds of the ‘10s. The album features contributions from Andy Shauf, Sam Wilkes and Max Jaffe.

Peter Thomas Sound Orchester – The Tape Masters Vol.1: Library Music 2×10” (Mocambo)

25 killer library music cuts by the German film music maestro on audiophile pressing in deluxe 2×10′ set. Uber rare and never released before material from 1968-1976, sourced from Peter Thomas’ personal reel-to-reel tape archive. From brassy big band funk, space jazz, kraut synth experiments to proto-hip-hop, cosmic schlagers, heavy easy listening, soulful soundtrack moods and absurdly dreamy LSD ballads, this compilation encompasses the composer’s most obscure and yet most transcendent work.

Josh Turner – This Country Music Thing LP (MCA Nashville)

Gold colorway. This Country Music Thing is Josh Turner’s 10th studio album and the first new music since his 2017 album, Deep South. Produced by Kenny Greenberg, it features 11 tracks – including the new single, “Heatin’ Things Up,” which was released in April.

Twiztid – The Darkness [Reissue/2015] 2xLP (Majik Ninja)

Half-and-half sky blue and orange colorway. Originally released in 2015, Twiztid’s The Darkness has been a staple release and was their first since forming their own label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. The album was released as a single black LP with only 10 total tracks back in 2015 and sold out quickly, but this is the first time it has been properly released in its entirety.

To commemorate XX years of Lex Records, this limited 12” sampler presents on vinyl for the first time remixes by Danger Mouse, Boards of Canada, DJ Premier, and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine). Limited to 1000 copies, each heavyweight vinyl comes packaged in a clear sleeve, with an intricately etched B-Side featuring artwork by Commission Studios. Foundation reggae artist Dennis Walks’ much in demand “Waste Time In Babylon” becomes the latest 1980s digital masterpiece to be reissued on 45 from Death Is Not The End’s 333 series. Produced by Prince Jazzbo for his Ujama label in 1987, the singer who first came through voicing tracks for producers Harry Mudie and Joe Gibbs in the early 1970s lends his vocals to the ‘Racecourse Rock’ rhythm played here by the legendary keyboardist Winston Wright.

Ward – For Beginners: The Best Of M. Ward LP (Merge)

For Beginners: The Best Of M. Ward is a collection for M. Ward fans of any vintage. Gathering 14 tracks from across his Merge Records discography, including the newly recorded song “Cry,” For Beginners is both a primer and a mixtape of favorites sequenced in a way that gives them new life.
