Jack Johnson Film Premiere

On October 27th, Jack Johnson will be releasing a documentary and album on multiple physical and digital formats. The film traces the steps of last summer’s European tour, and the CD features highlights from the entire World Tour. The film will have a SLO premiere on Saturday, October 24th at 7:00pm at the Cal Poly’s Chumash Auditorium. Tickets are available for $8 ($6 w/ student ID). Or you can get a free ticket with the pre-order of October 27th physical release, here at Boo Boo Records. It will out on CD, LP, DVD and Blu-Ray. Proceeds will benefit research on the Pacific Crest Trail and the Kokua Hawaii Foundation

Michael Pollan at Cal Poly

Every since reading Botany Of Desire, I’ve been a fan of Michael Pollan. This Thursday, October 15th, Cal Poly will host a conversation with him at 11am in the Sidney Harman Hall in Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required, but seating is limited.

The event will feature nationally recognized author, journalist, teacher and sustainable foods advocate Michael Pollan in a panel discussion with world renowned agricultural leaders, including Gary Smith, Monfort Endowed Chair in meat science at Colorado State University, and Myra Goodman, co-founder of Earthbound Farm Organic.

The panel will discuss current challenges and issues in California food production and lend perspective to sustainable practices across the food production industry.
